How to Configure the Renewal Effective Date for Quoting

            Copied!

Some carriers will only return a quote when the renewal date falls within their binding window — often just 30 days. Since renewals typically download into your BMS 45 to 60 days ahead of the renewal date, they can fall outside that window, and those carriers may not return a quote at all. You can configure Quandri to submit quotes using an adjusted effective date of 30 days from the day the quote is run. This brings the date inside the carrier's binding window so more policies return results.

            Why It Matters

            • More policies get a quote back from carriers with tight binding windows.
            • Less manual follow-up tracking down policies that came back empty and requoting them by hand.

            How It Works

            • This setting is off by default. Your existing behaviour stays the same unless you turn it on.
            • When turned on, Quandri submits an effective date of 30 days from the day the quote is run to the carrier. The renewal date on your records is not changed.
            • When the adjusted date is used, the quote result note includes a reminder to verify the effective date before confirming rates with the carrier.

How to Turn On the Configurable Renewal Effective Date

            1. Go to Quote Preferences.

            2. Locate the renewal effective date setting.

            3. Turn the setting on.

            Please note:

This setting only changes the effective date submitted to the carrier for quoting purposes. It does not change the renewal date on the policy record.

            FAQ

Does this change the renewal date in my AMS?

No. The adjustment only applies to the effective date submitted to the carrier when the quote is run. The renewal date on your records stays the same.

Do I need to turn this on?

No. The setting is off by default, and existing quoting behaviour is unchanged unless you turn it on.

How will I know when the adjusted date was used?

The quote result note will include a reminder to verify the effective date before confirming rates with the carrier.
